Christina Joerg from the Penn State will present a talk titled "Introducing the Nanoscribe: 3D micro-printing for topological photonics".

Abstract: The Nanoscribe is a versatile, commercially available 3D printer that employs the two-photon lithography technique to print micro-scale photonic structures. I will give a brief review of the recent work on photonic topological systems, particularly waveguide arrays and photonics crystals, fabricated by 3D micro printing. This flexible technology enables the fabrication of a wide range of photonic device geometries with photoresists. Furthermore, its compatibility with infiltration methods opens the possibility of introducing gain, loss, and strong nonlinearity to study their respective effects on topological systems in experiments.
